Summary: My client is a property management company that specializes in affordable housing. They wanted to create an e-learning program that would educate first-time apartment renters about the rental process, their rights and responsibilities as tenants, and how to maintain a safe and healthy living environment.

Challenge

My challenge was to design and develop an e-learning program that would effectively educate first-time apartment renters about the rental process and their responsibilities as tenants. I needed to ensure that the program was engaging, user-friendly, and accessible to a wide range of users, including those with disabilities or limited English proficiency.

Additionally, I needed to ensure that the program was compliant with fair housing laws and regulations, and that it addressed common issues that first-time renters may face, such as lease agreements, security deposits, and maintenance requests.

Solution

To meet the client's needs, I conducted research into best practices for e-learning design and identified key topics that needed to be covered, such as lease agreements, rent payments, and tenant rights.

I then developed a customized e-learning program that included interactive quizzes, and animations to engage users and reinforce key concepts. The program was designed to be accessible to a wide range of users, with options for closed captions and audio descriptions for users with disabilities or limited English proficiency.

The program was also designed to be mobile-friendly, allowing users to access the program from their smartphones or tablets. I conducted extensive testing to ensure that the program was user-friendly and that all content was accurate and compliant with fair housing laws and regulations.
